Need to take pictures of/for your classes?

Digital cameras are a great tool to use in the classroom!

When our computers were replaced this summer, we had to purchase new digital cameras (since the new computers do not have "a" drives.) If you'd like to check out one of our new cameras, here's a quickie tutorial...

1. Check out a camera from the media center.

2. Take your picture(s).

3. Plug the USB end of the cable into your computers USB port.

4. Plug the other end of the cable into the bottom of the camera.

Now you are ready to uplolad! (Just remember to delete your pictures from the camera after you save them to your computer.)

News Flash on Flash Drives!

I was in my local Target store last night and noticed that they had 32 MB (megabyte) flash drives on sale for $4.99. (When I bought my first 32MB flash drive a few years ago, it was around $30!) Now, how much can you store on a 32 MB Flash Drive? Well, you can't put an entire set of encyclopedias or your iTunes collection on there, but you can fit more than you might think. Go to the website below to learn about all sorts of bytes from "just plain old bytes" to "Yottabytes" (And no, a yottabyte is not when that little green guy in the robe from Star Wars gets mad and bites someone on their leg!)

Also, you might want to check out your local discount store and pick up a hand full of inexpensive flash drives. You may even consider adding an inexpensive flash drive to your list of classroom supplies for next year.

Flash Drives

Flash drives are also called Key drives, thumb drives or any other name the manufacturer chooses - no matter what the name to get the biggest bang for your buck - look for flash drives that are on sale and get one with at least 512mb of memory.
