News Flash on Flash Drives!

100_5052

I was in my local Target store last night and noticed that they had 32 MB (megabyte) flash drives on sale for $4.99. (When I bought my first 32MB flash drive a few years ago, it was around $30!) Now, how much can you store on a 32 MB Flash Drive? Well, you can't put an entire set of encyclopedias or your iTunes collection on there, but you can fit more than you might think. Go to the website below to learn about all sorts of bytes from "just plain old bytes" to "Yottabytes" (And no, a yottabyte is not when that little green guy in the robe from Star Wars gets mad and bites someone on their leg!)

Also, you might want to check out your local discount store and pick up a hand full of inexpensive flash drives. You may even consider adding an inexpensive flash drive to your list of classroom supplies for next year.

Why is my presentation not showing up on the screen???

J0396032

Okay... You've plugged up, powered on, and logged in. You are ready to show your presentation to your students. Everything is perfect, right? NO! You suddenly realize that what you see on your computer screen is not showing up on the projection screen. Is this a showstopper? Not at all. Simply  push the Fn key and F8. ('Fn' is the purple key below the 'Shift' key, and 'F8' is the function key above the '7' and '8' keys.)

You may have to press the Fn - F8 combo more than once... The Fn and F8 key combo cycles through 3 modes (projector only, laptop only, and projector and laptop).
