Today was busy, busy, busy!
We discussed action and helping verbs by participating in a word sorting activity. Then we corrected the notes that the students took during their trip to the computer lab yesterday.
During the second half of class, we started writing the rough draft of your personal narratives.

Today we went to the computer lab and started learning about verbs. My students used an online powerpoint to take notes on verbs.

Friday!!!!!!!!!!
Well, I've been pretty terrible about updating my blog this week. No excuses, I'm just sorry.
We took a break off from parts of speech this week and worked on personal narratives. Yesterday and today were used for the first step of the writing process: prewriting. We will begin writing our first draft on Monday.

September 19th
Ah man, what a busy few days! I have totally forgotten to update my blog!
First I want to say how AWESOME every one did on the preposition test last week!! Everyone made above an 80! NO RETAKES!
Now lets talk about this week. We have started working on our first major writing assignment: a personal narrative. Before we start writing the narrative, I want to be sure to give plenty of examples so my student no exactly what I am looking for. We read two examples from our literature book, and then we started analyzing their plot, characters, and setting.
So, if you haven't finished your Personal Narrative Handout by the end of class today, the you need to finish it for homework tonight.
