"The Cay"

Today we began reading "The Cay" by Theodore Taylor. It is a great book and most of the kids have not read it. There will be three grades for the book.

1)Questions over the chapters (only one or two per chapter)    2)Vocab    3)Test

I handed out the book packet and test sheet today. The packet is pretty self explanatory. The test over the book will be written by the students. I will upload both assignments below if you would like to print out an extra copy, or if you want to look over the assignments and send me any questions.

It has been awhile!

Sorry I haven't been keeping up with the blog, but we have been busy little bees. I have not given any homework in weeks, and we have just been studying and reviewing for the CRCT. Today we took the Language Arts test. Yesterday was the Reading test. Most of my students feel pretty good about their performance on both tests.

I will be keeping up with the blog for the rest of they year, so check back for homework and classwork updates.

Frayer Model Examples

As you all know, we have a test over the eight terms you have been studying for the last week. Today we worked with Frayer Models to make study guides. I have attached the two examples that we did in class together.

Monday the 25th

Today was a full day! We worked on our DGP without the usual notes, practiced a few CRCT questions, and worked on combining sentences with conjunctions.

Your homework is to continue studying your notecards. You will have a quiz over the terms next Monday.

Feb. the 13th

Today, we started worked on coordinating conjunctions. I will post the notes tomorrow after we talk about the subordinating and correlative.

2nd, 3rd, and 4th periods need to complete workbook pages 37 and 38.
