Week of August 28

Monday-watched a video on minerals and took notes.  Quiz THURSDAY!  Students have known about this since Monday.

Tuesday- silent reading and mineral sharing.  We saw some awesome minerals. Thanks to all those who brought them in to share!

Friday-let's use the book and workbook.  I figure it's about time :-)

Major test over minerals next Friday ( I moved it from Thursday), using notes, labs, and workbook. 

For the weekend: Don't forget to finish your properties definitions: cleavage,"cleaver",  streak, Moh's hardness scale, and luster and answer the E. Question "Which property do you think is the best for identifying a mineral and why?" in at least 3 sentences.

Homework for the week of August 20

Thursday:

Quiz over all standards covered so far.  As you study from your spirals, pay particular attention to observation vs inference vs prediction and purpose vs hypothesis.  Know examples and be able to differentiate between them.

Monday, 27th

Formal lab is due-typed.  Make sure each section is clearly labeled. 

Include: Purpose, Hypothesis, Materials, Procedure, Results in paragraph form, and Conclusion. 

We've had a great beginning of school, and I am amazed at how much the students have already learned!
