We continue to work on the unit 8 project. Students are working hard on this project and they are coming along nicely. Next Algebra skills quiz will be on Friday, May 16th, over equation solving and distributive property. Students have the handout on step-by-step equation solving to study for the quiz. It will be the last quiz grade for this year!
Today, we started working on our Unit 8 the "Entrepreneur" project. We will be working on this project until Wednesday, May 21st and it will be counted as a test grade. All work for this project will be done during class periods and the project folder will be kept in the classroom. Students will have homework assignments over algebra skills. There will be two quizzes scheduled over algebra skills review. The first quiz will be given on Friday, May 9th.
After completing the CRCT, we will review and have a unit 7 test on Thursday, May 1st. After the test, we will work on more Algebraic skills to prepare students for the next year. Quizzes and tests will be given over the Algebraic concepts.
Unit 7 quiz and test will be scheduled after the CRCT. We will focus on reviewing for the CRCT this week. Students have the CRCT packet with sample questions to review. This packet is not a homework assignment. It is for any students who would like to do additional practice for the test. I have the answers available for students to check during homeroom time. If students complete the packet and check answers, I am giving a homework pass. Hope everyone will take advantage.
After reviewing variations, we are starting Unit 7 - 3D Transformations and Cross Sections. Please refer to our Unit 7 Parent letter. A quiz will be given on Thursday or Friday and will be announced in advance. We will also review for the upcoming CRCT. Any unit tests will be scheduled after the CRCT.
We are working on the direct variations and will have a quiz next week, Wednesday or Thursday. Review notes from the Powerpoint presentation.
After the unit 5 test tomorrow, we will begin unit 6, Values that Vary. Students will study how two variables/factors relate to each other, using equations, tables and graphs. Parent letter will be given tomorrow or Wednesday. Quiz and test dates will be posted on the board in advance. Please check the agenda.
In Unit 5, we continue to work with Geometric concepts. The parent letter has been sent out including the vocabulary list and the standards. Currently, we are studying dilations and similar figures using proportions. A quiz and a test will be upcoming this week and the next week. The dates will be posted on the board in advance. The CRCT is around the corner, we will have more reviewing for CRCT questions. We are working to get everyone ready for the test.
I am still available for extra help every Tuesday mornings from 8:15 or during homeroom every morning. If you need help, come and see me.
Unit 3 will be almost finished. Unit 3 test will be given on Thursday next week and the Benchmark test to follow. The date will be announced later. Unit 4 is a Geometry unit and I will send a parent letter for the unit.
