We have gone over the system of equations, and now we are learning the system of inequalities. A 2nd unit 9 quiz will be given on Thursday, May 15th. It will cover the systems of equations by elimination method and inequalities. Students have the instruction sheets (Reteach) to review the concepts. A unit test will be scheduled for next Monday or Tuesday.
We continue to work on the unit 8 project. Students are working hard on this project and they are coming along nicely. Next Algebra skills quiz will be on Friday, May 16th, over equation solving and distributive property. Students have the handout on step-by-step equation solving to study for the quiz. It will be the last quiz grade for this year!
Currently, we are in Unit 9, Systems of Equations and Inequalities. We are learning to solve problems by writing and graphing two variable equations. We will learn to use substitution and elimination methods to solve problems also. After solving equations, we will challenge solving inequality problems. The first unit quiz is scheduled for this Thursday over solving system of equations by graphing and substitution. Another quiz and a test will be given for unit 9. I will post the dates next week.
Today, we started working on our Unit 8 the "Entrepreneur" project. We will be working on this project until Wednesday, May 21st and it will be counted as a test grade. All work for this project will be done during class periods and the project folder will be kept in the classroom. Students will have homework assignments over algebra skills. There will be two quizzes scheduled over algebra skills review. The first quiz will be given on Friday, May 9th.
After completing the CRCT, we will review and have a unit 7 test on Thursday, May 1st. After the test, we will work on more Algebraic skills to prepare students for the next year. Quizzes and tests will be given over the Algebraic concepts.
We are almost through with the CRCT. We will have a unit 8 test on Thursday and start Unit 9, Systems of Linear Equations and Inequalities on Friday. Please review Unit 9 Parent letter.
Unit 8 quiz and test will be scheduled after the CRCT. After going over Unit 8, we will focus on reviewing for the CRCT. A packet of sample questions will be available for students to practice. It will not be a homework assignment but students will receive a homework pass if it is completed. I have the answers available for students to check during homeroom.

This packet is not a homework assignment. It is for any students who would like to do additional practice for the test. I have the answers available for students to check during homeroom time. If students complete the packet and check answers, I am giving a homework pass. Hope everyone will take advantage.
After reviewing variations, we are starting Unit 7 - 3D Transformations and Cross Sections. Please refer to our Unit 7 Parent letter. A quiz will be given on Thursday or Friday and will be announced in advance. We will also review for the upcoming CRCT. Any unit tests will be scheduled after the CRCT.
We are starting Unit 8 - Geometric Figures after the break. The Unit 8 Parent letter will be sent home on Monday or Tuesday. We will study 2D and 3D geometric figures and the transformations and cross sections involved. At the same time, we will be reviewing for the upcoming CRCT. A Unit 8 quiz is scheduled for Thursday, April 17th and a unit test will be scheduled after the CRCT. Please remember that the Voc. project is due on Tuesday, April 15th and will count as a quiz grade.
