Due to the Performing Arts schedules, Unit 9 test will be given on Monday, 5/18. We will go over factoring polynomials next week to prepare students for the next year.
I am taking up Math textbooks. Please return the text as soon as possible if you have not already done so. Students may keep the Woktext and workbook to review over the summer.
Currently, students are studying the basics of perfect squares, square roots, and Pythagorean Theorem to get ready for 8th grade. We will have a open book quiz and a regular quiz over these concepts. The students are encouraged to memorize the perfect squares up to 20. We will be practicing in class but it will help to practice at home also.
Students will be taking a Unit 9 quiz on Thursday over the systems of equations using graphing, substitution, and elimination methods. The 4th Benchmark test will be administered on Friday. As before, it will not be a part of the grade. The tentative schedule for a Unit 9 test will be next Friday (5/15).
We have successfully completed the CRCT today and will be back on the regular schedule tomorrow. Students will be taking a Unit 8 test on Wednesday and begin Unit 9. We have been reviewing equations and inequalities to prepare for the Unit. Please refer to the Unit 9 parent letter.
Students will be taking a Unit 6 quiz on Wednesday and a Unit 7 Test on Friday this week. We will review before the quiz and test. Starting next week, we will summarizethe 7th grade math concepts and also prepare students for the next year. We only have a month left so please keep up with the assignments.
After the break, we will cover another Geometry section to prepare students for the CRCT. Unit 7 is over 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional figures involving transformations and cross sections. please refer to the attached Parent letter. Have a safe and relaxing break.
I hope you are enjoying your break. After the break, we will review congruency and similarity, and study Cross sections. Our focus for the next week will be on reviewing for the CRCT. A quiz and a test will be scheduled after the CRCT.
We have learned dilation, similar figures, scale factors, and area ratios. We have also reviewed proportions. A quiz will be given over these concepts tomorrow. We are going over the transformations (reflection, translation, and rotation) to prepare for CRCT.
