May 21 - 25

I can't believe it is the last week of school!  It has been a great year!

Monday from 9:25 - 11:15 is 1st Period Algebra I Final Exam; 11:15 - 1:00 is Connections; 1:00 - 2:20 is 5th Period/study hall and lunch; 2:20 - 4:15 6th Period Algebra I Final Exam

Tuesday from 9:25 - 11:15 is 2nd Period BAG Final Exam; 11:15 - 1:00 is Connections; 1:00 - 2:20 is 5th Period/study hall and lunch; 2:20 - 4:15 is 7th Period BAG Final Exam

Wednesday from 9:25 - 11:15 is 5th Period Algebra I Final Exam; 11:15 - 1:00 is Connections; 1:00 - 4:15 is the 8th Grade Picnic

May 14 - 18

Algebra -  Monday - Wednesday we reviewed for our Final Exam.  Thursday we celebrated our success on the End of Course Test.  I AM SO VERY PROUD OF EACH OF YOU!!!!  88% of the Algebra students exceeded standards by earning a score of 90% or higher.  YOU ALL ARE AWESOME!  Friday we played our Final Exam Jeopardy game.  1st and 6th periods final exams are Monday and 5th period final exam is Wednesday. Good Luck!

BAG -  Monday - Thursday we reviewed for our Final Exam.  You have a "word" study packet that summarizes each chapter and a "problem" packet to practice/review those type of problems.  Friday we played Final Exam Jeopardy.  7th period -  you were WONDERFUL!!!!!!   Both 2nd and 7th period BAG class final exams are on Tuesday.  Good Luck!

May 7 - 11

Algebra - We spent Monday and Tuesday reviewing for the EOCT and becoming experts over Chapters 1 - 12!  The EOCT is Wednesday and Thursday.  Friday we will celebrate our success!!!!!

BAG -  We are working with one, two, three, and four step algebraic equations. We are including integers and fractions!!!!  The test over our Algebra Concepts is Wednesday, May 9th.  We will begin our review for the Final Exam on Thursday.

April 30 - May 4

Algebra -  We continued Chapter 11 with sections 6, 7, and 8.  We completed the Chapter Review on pages 700 - 702  1-8 and 11-23 all.  The Chapter 11 test was Thursday.  We began reviewing for the EOCT on Friday.  You need to read and complete the EOCT Study Guide packet and review Chapters 1 -5 by Monday.  Complete page 194   1 - 12; page 268 1 - 9; page 328 1 - 9.

BAG -  We continued substitution and worked with equations and inequalities and decided if the given answers were solutions.  We reviewed our integer rules before we worked with equations with positive and negative numbers.  Our quiz was Wednesday.  We are working with one and two step equations with positive numbers as well as with negative numbers and fractions.  Our Chapter test will be Wednesday, May 9th.

April 23 - 27

Algebra - We needed to spend more time reviewing factoring polynomials in order to simplying rational expressions as well as multiplying and dividing rational expressions.  (Page 673   4 - 32 all) We used a worksheet to check our mastery of these concepts.  We took the CRCT  quiz and a quiz over Chapter 11 sections 11.1, 11.2, and 11.4.

BAG -  We took the CRCT quiz and began our study of Algebra concepts.  We discussed verbal phrases, Order of Operations, combining like terms and substitution.  Students needed to complete three worksheets front and back.

April 16 - 20

Algebra - We continued reviewing for the CRCT and began Chapter 11. We worked with proportions (page 646  17 - 40 all)  We reviewed percents (page 653 13 - 30 all).  We spent several days reviewing simplifying rational expressions and remembering how to factor polynomials.  (page 667 9-23 all)

BAG-  We continued reviewing for the CRCT and did a probability activity.

April 13, 2007

April 9 - 13

Algebra - We started Chapter 11 this week and completes page 653  10 - 23 all and page 646 17 - 40 all.  We also worked on our CRCT review.

BAG - We reviewed all six content areas for the CRCT.  You were given three review worksheets (front and back) to complete.

Algebra and BAG -  Work on the CRCT practice problems on the website given to you in class.

March 26th - 30th

Algebra -  We finished Chapter 12 by reviewing the Pythagorean Theorem and the Midpoint and Distance formulas.  Students completed page 808 problems 9-22 and 29 - 40 all.  We reviewed on Tuesday for the Chapter 12 test on Wednesday.  Thursday we went to the Computer Lab to take several practice CRCT tests.  Students turned in a picture graph.  Career Day was Friday...no math class!  Have a great Spring Break!

BAG -  We talked about scatterplots and completed Study Guide and Practice 4-6 in our workbooks.  We reviewed on Tuesday for the Statistics test on Wednesday. Students turned in a 6 worksheet packet as well as a picture graph.  Thursday we went to the computer lab to take several practice CRCT tests.  Career Day was Friday...no math class!  Have a great Spring Break!

March 19 - 23

Algebra -  We are still working with simplifying radicals as we begin Chapter 12.  We are adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing radicals in section 12.2.  We completed page 719  18 - 38 evens as well as 40 - 48 all.  We also completed page 725  4 - 12 and 15 - 25 all in section 12.3.  Complete page 728  Quiz 1  5-16 all to prepare for your Chapter 12 quiz on Friday.  We are learning how to use three new formulas....the Pythagoream Theorm, the Distance Formula, and the Midpoint formula.  Complete p. 741  4 - 12 all, page 748 14 - 20 all, and page 749 34 - 40 all.  You need to memorize and know how to use these formulas in addition to the other sections for your Chapter 12 test on Wednesday.  We continue to review for the CRCT every day as a warm up activity.

BAG -   We continue to review for the CRCT every day as a warm up activity.  We began this week working with the central tendencies of Mean, Median, Mode, and Range.  You completed two worksheets over this concept.  We also took our Chapter 11 test scores and found the mean, median, mode, and range as well as created a bar graph and histogram.  You created a histogram on your own for homework.  We talked about line plots, line graphs, and constructing circle graphs.  You will have a test next Wednesday.
