Cheesecake Delivery Next Week

Parents,

Our cheesecake and goodies will be delivered on Wednesday, October 21st.  Please make sure your items are picked up in the school Media Center between the hours of 3:00 and 7:00 pm.  We can not keep items overnight.

We also need parents to help during the day with unloading the truck and filling orders.  Remember many hands make light work!

Thanks for all the support!!  The Chorus and General Music classes raised $3000.00.  Approximately $800 of this came from General Music students and will go towards the purchase of guitars for our classroom!!!  Great work everyone!

Welcome New General Music Students

Welcome new parents and students this 9 weeks.  We have a fun filled time ahead of us.Attached are the syllabus for each grade level.  If your child has not brought it home you can find a copy right here.  Download General Music Syllabus 09-10

6th Grade General Music will study the voice, music reading, composing and performing all through the vehicle of singing.  We will culminate our curriculum by performing in the Holiday Concert with the McCleskey Choruses on Thursday, December 10th at 7 pm.  The students will work hard on music for this performance and all are expected to perform.

7th Grade General Music will study the 6 essential elements to a music composition (both traditional and nontraditional music).  It is a fast paced and active class environment.

8th Grade General Music will study music theory, composition, beginning piano and beginning guitar.

Honor Chorus Details

Honor Chorus is just a few weeks away.  A detailed letter went home today.  If you did not get it, a copy is attached.  Download Directions and info

Morning rehearsals will begin this week.  Tuesdays - Treble Chorus; Thursdays - Mixed Chorus.  All rehearsals will begin at 8 am. 

The students have received their music.  This was included in the fees and is theirs to keep.  Some pieces have not arrived yet and will be distributed as soon as it arrives. 

The students need to listen the recordings as much as possible.  If you have not received a CD or an e-mail with the link to the recordings you can access them here: http://sites.google.com/site/gmeadist12middlehonorchorus/home

If you can help drive students to Smyrna, please let me know for those who might have trouble with transportation.

Chorus Concert Tomorrow Night!

Just another reminder that out Fall Chorus Concert is tomorrow night, Tuesday, October 6th.  It will begin at 7pm and last  about 45 minutes.

The students will stay after school for a joint rehearsal.  We will have time to eat dinner.  Student were given a choice of ordering pizza or bringing something from home.  Refrigerators are available. If students wanted to order pizza, the money we due last week.  In the event you did not get the information, please e-mail me no later than Tuesday morning at 11 am.  The cost is $3.50

Students should bring their concert uniforms / outfits to school and hang them in the Chorus room as soon as they get to school.

Parent Help is always needed.  We have plenty of parents to help with our dinner, but we could use more for the magical time of changing clothes and warming up.
