Millie Schedule & Costumes

Parents,

 

We are down to our last few rehearsals for the Spring Musical.  It is extremely important that ALL students pay close attention to the rehearsal schedule.  If there is a conflict please let me know. 

 

Many students have still not picked up their chorus book for studying or  working as hard as needed in class. This is causing us to be quite behind.  Please encourage your student to stay on top of schedules, costumes and most importantly good effort in class.  It only takes one person to pull the focus away from acting.

 

Attached is the Rehearsal Schedule for before and afterschool.  Everyone is welcome at all times but those listed will be the focus of the rehearsal.  Others can practice their dances and run lines.  Sometimes the cutest ideas come when the kids are working independently.   Lead parts need to come in for the extra rehearsals. 

We have a SET PAINTING DAY this Saturday 4/18 from 9-3.  We need as many adults as possible so the students can reherase. The painting is easy - no talent needed!  We will also be building the frame and some jail cells.  All grade levels are welcome!

Musical Information

Saturday, April 18th will be a Set Painting day.  We will work from 9-3.  Bring paint brushes, a snack to share and wear old clothes.  We will collect moeny for pizza near lunch time.  We need a great deal of help.

Lastly, please reinforece to your child the importance of working hard in class.  We have a big job to do and limited time.  Every minute counts. Thanks. 

Set Building Day

We will begin to construct sets for our Spring Musical this Saturday, 3/14.  We will begin at 9 am and wrap up at 1pm.  Our focus will be building set frames and priming fabric.  We need any adult who is comfortable working with wood and anyone who can roll paint.

Please bring paint rollers, roller covers and drop cloths if you have them.  Label all of your items.

Our second set day is Saturday, March 28th from 9-3. 

Chorus Uniforms

Last Fall, several students borrowed uniforms for the concert.  We are still missing 5.  The uniforms are expensive and were purshased by the school in emergency situations where they are needed due to new students moving in etc.  Most school uniforms are be numbered.  Please look through your daughter's room to see if you may have one and return it to school as soon as possible.  We are desparate need of them for Thursday.  Thank you for helping with this.

Chorus Festival Forms

Chorus Festival (Large Group Performance Evaluation) forms were sent home last week.  They are due this Thursday along with the fee of $5.50.  If you have not received them, I have attached them for you to download.

March 12th Concert Letter and Forms

Attached is the letter and permission form for our Pre-Festival Concert on March 12th.  Your student should be bringing one home to you.  Please fill it out and return it by Monday, March 9th.  We need a lot of parental help to make things run smoothly.  Please let me know what you can do to assist.

8th Grade Spring Musical Scripts

The scripts are ready for the for students to pick up. They must hand in the two contracts with a parent signature first.  I have attached the contracts in case you have not recieved them.

Beauty and The Beast Field Trip

8th Grade Chorus will be taking a field trip to Beauty and the Beast  presented by British Academy of Performing Arts on Friday, March 20th.  We will meet and leave school at 6pm.  We will return at approximately 9:15 pm.  Transportation will be parent drivers.  If you have not received a permission slip, it is attached.  They must be returned by Friday, 2.27 in order to reserve the tickets at the discounted price.   Download Beauty and the Beast

Important Chorus Meeting

A very important Chorus meeting is being held  Monday night, 2/23 at 6pm.  We will go over all the important elements of the Spring Musical.  This is a big project and we need everyone to know the expectations.  We will also go over areas where families can get involved.

Attached are the letters that have gone home and the imformation that will be covered at the meeting. These forms, plus others for upcoming events, will be handed out at the meeting.

The meeting will not last more than 45 minutes.  I promise to be concise so you can get home to your families. Please make every effort to attend.
