The school counselors would like to recognize the McCleskey Middle School Peer Helpers for their efforts in organizing and implementing the Pennies for Patients Campaign for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. They have been instrumental in developing the fund raising plan, meeting with Mrs. Lyons to get approval for their ideas, making announcements, and collecting the money. We are extremely proud of them and their efforts.
We have set a goal to raise $500 during the 3-week Pennies for Patients campaign. The campaign runs through February 24, 2012. All students are encouraged to being in any change and/or dollar bills to donate to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. Peer Helpers are in the commons areas every day to collect the money.
All students who donate $1.00 on Monday, February 13 and Tuesday, February 21 are allowed to wear pajama pants to school. Students will recieve a sticker from a Peer Helper. Also, a candy jar will be on display next week in the grade level commons and students can pay 50 cents for a guess on the number of candies in the jar. The student who comes the closest (without going over) will win the jar of candy. The winner will be announced on Fridays of the next 2 weeks.
Thank you to every student and staff member who has contributed to the Pennies for Patients campaign! We hope to reach and exceed our goal of collecting $500. Our contributions will be made to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society in honor of P.E. coach, Patty Henderson's sister, Krista Cadenhead.
