Oct 24-28 Conference Week(2:15 dismissal)

Math 6 finished order of operations, and continued on unit 4 by doing the sections on finding the value of algebraic expressions.( Ch 2-lessons 1,2,3).  We will concentrate next on using the PROCESS to find solutions to one-step equations.  Students will have to show all inverse operations used to find the solution, not just the answers.

Math 6/7 finished solving one-step equations using integers, fractions, and decimals.Students must show all inverse operations used to get the solutions. We will review all the one-step equations and have a quiz on Thursday. Next standard is solving the two-step equations.

oct 17-21

Math 6 and 6/7---Yesterday students reviewed the first nine weeks with a study guide to prepare for the county Benchmark TEST on Thursday. Every question was worked in detail today  for all students.

All math classes will work on order of operations(Ch 1-lessons 3,4), then one-step equations(Ch 2-lessons 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8).  Math 6/7 has a quiz on order of operations on Wednesday, and math 6 will have one on Thursday.

Oct 10-14(last week of nine weeks grading period)

Math 6 reviewed fractions on Thursday,Friday, and Monday, then they took the UNIT TEST on adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions today. The test was only 20 multiple choice questions, and they should have been very successful.

 

Math 6/7 reviewed the rules for integers involving both decimals and fractions, and they had a quiz today on adding,subtracting, multiplying, and dividing rational numbers.
