1.) Inquiry activity on Land Allocation in Georgia: Part 3/3.

1st activity - Answer #2 for page 1 of your packet (on the Headright System) together as a class using the Resource Allocation Strategies handout found here: Download Resource Allocation Strategies Handout 

2nd activity - Read "Allocation by Price" on the following handout: Download METHODS FOR DISTRIBUTING THE LAND Handout and see the slide #6-7 on the following powerpoint presentation: Download Land allocation in GA - 1733-1835. Next, download and print the following graphic organizers that are needed for note-taking on the ways land was distributed in GA after the American Revolution: Download Land allocation in GA - graphic organizer. Answer #1-5 on the graphic organizer for the 2nd way land was given  in GA-- Allocation by Price (The Yazoo Land Fraud) (NOTE: You will need the Download Resource Allocation Strategies Handout to answer #2 on your graphic organizer). 3rd activity - Repeat step 1 for the last way that land was distributed in GA -- The Land Lottery. See maps on slides 8 of the following powerpoint presentation: Download Land allocation in GA - 1733-1835.

4th activity - Participate in Land Lottery simulation in class and complete exit ticket activity. Make sure you have land lot ticket. NOTE: IF ABSENT, go here to download and print HW: Download Land Lottery Exit Ticket. Complete the handout as if you won lot #1 in the lottery. here is a description on lot #1: 100 acres of land; some swamp land; good farm land in area not in swamp.

NOTE: We barely got started with #2 way of allocating land in GA: Allocation by Price (The Yazoo Land Fraud). Just answer #1 and #3 for page 2 in your packet.

2.) Perform Nancy Hart skit in class and discuss whether or not her actions were heroic and why.

NONE - however, if you don't have standards study notecards 100% done, make sure you do so before coming to class tomorrow. Also, if you did not get a GA Constitution of 1777 HW handout on Wed. in class, you will need to pick one up in class tomorrow.

In case you cannot pull up, the 5 cards are supposed to be as follows: 1.) Loyalists and Patriots, 2.) Elijah Clarke, 3.) Austin Dabney, 4.) Nancy Hart, 5.) Button Gwinnett, Lyman Hall, George Walton. The "one-pager" handout with all people on it cannot be uploaded, but all the info. from that sheet came directly from the textbook. Use the index to look up page numbers and info.! SORRY, MAJOR SCANNER DRIVER MALFUNCTIONING AND CANNOT USE.
